What is the fundament for the proper posture of a baby wearer? Why paying attention to the body position during carrying a baby in a wrap is so important?
Dysfunctions that occur within the motion organ during everyday activities can be a real challenge to deal with. Babywearing is also a strong factor straining our body so you should not be indifferent and from the beginning you must care about its’ condition!
Everybody has his own posture. Their diversity comes from various factors such as current weather or past diseases. This means that body attitude show ones wellbeing. After childbirth, when the mother has a burden of long 9 months of spectacular changes, the center of gravity moves to its’ original position and the women’s body is trying to cope with it. It needs a direction. A direction that by probing good impulses will lead to a welfare. It has a difficult task to achieve - to get back into perfect shape. But how is it happening?
Complex coordination of muscular groups building so-called CORE of the body is responsible for stabilizing the posture. This is the place of anchoring of structures responsible for peripheral body movements. Balanced work of multifidus muscles, transverse abdominal muscle, muscles od the pelvic diaphragm and diaphragm is responsible for this deep stabilization. Their proper tension protects lumbar spine against painful overloading. It is their work that provides the basis for building a healthy posture.
Thus before doing a carry take care of yourself! Try to “stand actively”!
Starting from the bottom:
Feel the ground, stand on full feet.
Unlock your knees – do not stand on hiperaxtension.
Remind yourself about Kegel exercise, delicate sensation of suspension of urine stream will provoke tension of the pelvic diaphragm muscles.
Tense your abdomen and do not push your pelvis forward.
Breathe! With full breast deeply and calmly!
Lower your shoulders freely and (what is very important) do not move your chin forward
And for the end – try to „grow” – stretch yourself keeping already built posture, not moving your head and trying not to look into the sky.
Stick with these very simple rules in your everyday live. Remember that you should pay attention to your body posture not only during doing a carry. Your body should serve you in health and good condition for long years! The more you think about correcting of your posture the quicker you’ll start to stand properly. Remember that it takes only 3 weeks for a habit to be inplemented… So what are you waiting for?
