  • Please tell a few words about you, Piotr and Jakub

    •  We’ve been together for 8 years. Even in the early beginning of our relationship, we had serious plans for the future and felt that it’s the true love. We became parents on 12 May 2016. Now I work and care for  little Jakub and home and my fiancés.

  • In the TVN reportage, you said that you always wanted to be a mom and this desire became even stronger after your accident. How do you feel as a mom now?

    • I’ve always had a maternal instinct, I liked to look after children. After the accident, this need became even stronger… I think that I matured and I was scared that after the accident I wouldn’t be able to have children. I feel wonderful as a mom – like every mom, I think. I hope that in the near future Jakub will become a brother.

  • You are very independent. Is it a big challenge? How do you cope with the received help?

    • I try to be as independent as much as I can. I don’t like receiving help and try to avoid it. Of course, some situations are inevitable – like stairs – and then I need help. This situation should change in the future because I’m going to the course of climbing the stairs with a wheelchair.

  • Tell me about the early moments of being a mom?

    • It was hard – just like in every mom’s experience. The pain after labor persisted a few days. Everything was new, like caring Jakub and we reacted to his every move when he slept in his crib. We were very stressed out but now we got used to being parents.

  • Do you think that wraps and carriers may be useful for moms on wheelchairs?

    • Yes, I think that wraps are a good solution for smaller babies and carriers – for the older ones. They make our moves easier. We don’t have to take a stroller. And it’s a pleasure for a mom and a baby to be close to each other.

  • What is your role in the „Jedyna Taka Mama” (One-of-a-Kind Mom) Foundation? What do you want to achieve?

    • The goal of the foundation is to overcome barriers and stereotypes about women and parents in the wheelchairs. We show that everyone, despite his/her disabilities, can be a parent. We want the gynecologists’ offices to be adapted for women in wheelchair too.

  • You won Miss Social Media 2016. Congratulations! What did this award bring to your life?

    • Thank you!
This award has changed a lot, I became even more self-confident, courageous.
I met new valuable people – moms on wheelchair too. I became ‘medial’ in some way which helped me to convince people that women in the wheelchairs are beautiful and feminine. The biggest satisfaction gives me letters from many women and moms with their stories: ‘thanks to you, my daughter in the wheelchair started seeing people’, ‘I started to care about my body and I feel more self-confident now – you’re my inspiration!’. This is marvelous and gives me the power to more actions.

  • You like caring about beauty and studied cosmetology – is this the job you’d like to work in?

    • I like it very much. I’ve started studying cosmetology but in the middle of it – I had to make a break because I was pregnant and doctors told me it was unhealthy for the child. I think I’d like to choose this path of the career. I like it – it’s my passion.

  • You are gathering funds for the operation, aren’t you?

    • Yes, I’m gathering funds for the transplantation of the stem cells from the umbilical cord blood into the spinal cord and rehabilitation which will let me walk again!

  • Last question – Agata! One of the awards in the ‘Miss Social Media 2016’ was a parachute jump. Have you jumped?

    • I haven’t had a possibility yet but next term is middle of July so we’ll see

  • Thank you very much!
